Wizard of Oz!!

We finally finished sculpting  all the new Wizard of Oz ducks in Ohio and just sent them off to our factory.  I hope to have them here late Summer, early Fall.  I can’t believe how well they turned out and can hardly wait to get them here.  Please do share these babies. 

It took us around six months to do these….a true labor of love.  How cool that we designed and sculpted them in the USA in the Midwest no less!  The Wizard of Oz is so iconic.  I still remember as a child watching it as a family event on TV once a year.  As a child, I even had the complete hard bound collection of all the Oz books.  They should make some amazing gifts for people.

And on a sadder note, we lost the last of our Munchkins Wednesday.  Jerry Maren, the leader of Oz’s Lollipop Guild, was  98.  After the film, he had a very full life in show business.  He will truly missed.  His memoir, entitled “Short and Sweet:  The Life and Times of the Lollipop Munchkin,” was published in 2006.
